THE ORDER FOR THE HOLY EUCHARIST
(For Ordinary Time)
The parishes of
St Kyneburgha of Castor
St Michael and All Angels Sutton
St John the Baptist Upton
The Blessed Virgin Mary at Marholm
This booklet is for use in what the Church calls Ordinary
Time – that is the time of the year between Candlemas and Lent and again
between Trinity Sunday and All Saints’ Tide. The colours used in the Church in
Ordinary Time are usually green. At some special festivals and seasons the
colours change (such as Epiphany Tide- white, and All Saints’ Tide -red).
The purpose of this book is to introduce children and
adults who are not familiar with it to the Service of Holy Communion Service
(also called the Eucharist).
If you have children with you, please encourage them to
watch the service and join in the words in bold.
All are welcome to come to the Altar during the communion.
If you do not wish to receive communion, simply bow your head and a blessing
will be given.
NOTE:
In Eastertide(from Easter Sunday to Pentecost) the priest may greet the congregation as follows.
Priest Alleluia! Christ is risen
(2nd Revision –
April 2001)
